Welcome to the home of the 2008 Eastern Football League Champion Charlestown Townies Semi-Professional Football Team. The Townies are one of the oldest semi-professional football teams in the country and are a proud member of the Eastern Football League (EFL).

2010 is the 50th Anniversary of the Eastern Football League. The Charlestown Townies are celebrating there 25th season in the EFL in 2010.
In the 25 years as a member of the EFL, The Townies have had four League MVP winners and two defensive MVP. Paul Scirocco (#12) in 1987, Paul was the quarterback- leading the Townies to a playoff spot and a semi final game in only the second year in the EFL.
In 2002, the Townies quarterback Mike Moreno (#13) led the Townies to a perfect 9-0 regular season and was named EFL MVP. Mike was the quarterback and leader of the Townies. The Townies lost in a quarter final playoff game but later that post season won against Empire Football League Champion Orange County.
In 2002, Kevin Keegan (#48) was the Defensive MVP of the EFL. Kevin led a defense that went undeafeated that season. He played linebacker and was truely an inspiration to all. He led a Townies defense that gave up just 89 points during the regualr season.
In 2007, Nelson Montas (#3) secured the League Defensive MVP honor. Nelson had 7+ interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. As well as being the most exciting player on Special Teams with many more touchdowns. The Team went on to the Championship game.
2008 season brought the Townies an EFL Championship. Brandon Johnson (#26) was the League MVP. Brandon had 14 interceptions, 9 of those he brought back for touchdowns. He created offense playing defense.
2009, it was Jon "Bucky" Jones (#8) as EFL MVP. Bucky is considered one of the top semi pro players in New England. He threw 25 touchdown passes as well as being the top punter in the league.
Did you know? After the 1987 season the Townies traveled to Ireland to play 3 teams in two weeks. The Townies won all three games.
